The best way to get around Port Douglas itself is on
foot, no hire car required from Port Douglas Beach
House. The village centre with its restaurants, cafes
and boutique shops is a few minutes walk, as is the
beach and the marina.
The Sunday Market is a weekly event that not even the
locals will miss. Spend a couple of hours wandering
through this vibrant market. Fresh tropical organic
fruit and vegetables, sugar cane juice, home made
ice-cream, locally grown tea and coffee, wood craft,
hand made jewellery, clothing and many more artefacts.
Two world championship golf courses are a few minutes
drive from the Port Douglas Beach House, challenging
